When choosing what type of cabinet to put in your kitchen for example, how do you choose between inset cabinets and frameless cabinets? The main difference between the two is the construction of the boxes. Senior Designer Jeremy Strong explains more in the video…
Inset means the drawer fronts and door fronts are inside the framing of the cabinetry instead of outside, overlapping the framing. Inset cabinets are made with framed boxes, installed flush with the frame. You’ll know it’s an inset cabinet when you see the frame around or between the doors and drawers.
Frameless cabinets don’t have, you guessed it- frames. The doors fully overlap the box and hides the door hinges. When you look at a frameless cabinet, you’ll hardly see any gaps between doors and drawers. This keeps you from seeing the cabinet surface when the doors are closed.
So which is better? Inset or frameless? Honestly, it all depends on your taste. Visiting our showroom will visually give you a better understanding of the differences and what each style looks like.
