Not Your Average Kitchen Remodel

This Park Trace home in Osprey is getting a lot more breathing room. We’re remodeling the kitchen, but this project is so much more than just your basic kitchen remodel. Walls are coming down everywhere, doors and windows are being replaced around the house, and ceilings are changing heights to run much more smoothly into one another.

A New Custom Kitchen

Let’s start with the basics. That would be the kitchen. This kitchen is getting a full gut; countertops, islands, cabinets, and appliances are all coming out. New cabinets from Elmwood Fine Custom Cabinetry and a quartz countertop with dark grey veining on a bright, white background will be installed in their place. This new look will make the almost 20-year-old kitchen look much more modern.

Walls, Ceilings & Floors

Now for the special touches. When you first walk into the home, you arrive in a somewhat circular foyer with carpet and rounded archways that lead further into the house, including to the kitchen. We’ll be removing the carpeting, and we’ll be removing the walls on the left side of the far sliding glass door.

The architectural arches and wall bump outs on the other side of the house leading into the master bedroom will also be removed, not to mention the fixed pane arch window with the palm tree on it in the living room.

We’ll also be filling in the fixed pane window over the TV area in the living room with concrete block.

Empty room with window

When it comes to the ceilings, you’ll notice various heights in the foyer, kitchen, and living room. We’ll be framing new ceiling details throughout the home. The different height ceilings will end up coming together to be flushed with each other; in other words, the new ceilings will be flat without the current tray ceilings.

Lastly is the flooring. The current floor tile in the kitchen and carpet in the other areas will be replaced with luxury vinyl flooring called Easy Luxury Rigid Core. This flooring will have a wood look. Everything will come together to create a much more modern space the homeowners will undoubtedly enjoy.
