Big Plans for Small Master Bath

It’s a master bath on the smaller side, but that doesn’t mean the new design must be small in style. We’re remodeling this master bathroom complete with walk-in closet in this River Club home in Lakewood Ranch. The creamy Navajo White walls and toilet closet might be staying as is, but there are plenty of other upgrades this bathroom is hungry for.

Bringing Warmth

The 1980s-looking cabinets move into 2022 with the help of Elmwood Custom Cabinetry. Tuscan bronze hardware from knobs to pulls to faucets will deck out these driftwood matte finish cabinets. The mirror’s frame will have the same materials as the cabinetry, and it will sit between two Flow Swirl Torchiere wall lights. These are hand-forged light fixtures that will lend warmth and sheen to the space.

White vanity and yellow walls in bathroom

The two sinks on the cabinets will stay, but they’ll be moved closer together for more usable space on the outside of the countertop. This new countertop will be a stone material called Taj Royale, which is described as a silky interplay of warm earthy hues, laced into the movement of soft tanned tones and delicate dabs of white. Mirroring the warm earthy hues is Sonoma Valley porcelain tile on the vanity accent wall. The final touch on the vanity will be LED lighting under the toe kick.

Tub to Shower Conversion

Moving into the water closet, this enclosed space is going to remain. The big change here will be the tub to shower conversion. The new shower will be in the tub’s existing footprint. Sonoma Wind porcelain tile will make up the shower walls and the wall behind the toilet. The toilet will sit right beside a clear tempered frameless shower door with an inline stationary panel. You’ll also find oil rubbed bronze hardware inside the shower.

Water closet with tub and toilet

New porcelain tiles will weave throughout the floor from the edge of the shower to the inside of the closet. A completely new closet system will be installed that will consist of new mirrored doors. Completing the earthy feel of this space is the creamy wall color that will remains as is to fully give off a warm, earthy feel overall to this River Club space.
