From the Kitchen to the Bathroom

Chances are, you have an island in your kitchen in one way or the other. We’ve all seen countless photos of kitchen islands in every kind of design and style, but what about a bathroom island?

Even the tiniest of kitchens are built with an island. We love kitchen islands because of the extra storage and counter space they provide, making the kitchen much more usable and functional. Designers are taking that idea and copying it into the bathroom.

Best For a Large Space

Bathroom islands are typically easier to have if you have a larger bathroom such as the master bath. The main reasons homeowners gravitate toward these bathroom islands are to add extra storage and to create a focal point for an otherwise empty space.

These islands are like another form of cabinetry; they can contain drawers to help store extra linen, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and clothes.

Larger bathrooms can also sometimes feel sort of bare. Islands help break up the space to help it feel cozier. Having that extra counter space is convenient when there are multiple people sharing the room. Whether or not there’s a sink in your bathroom island, it’s another surface someone can use while they’re getting ready.

Bathroom islands aren’t for everyone though. As we mentioned above, your bathroom needs to be pretty big, big enough so that the island doesn’t feel cramped or crowded.
