A Sarasota Remodel

We remodeled this whole main floor. The homeowners lived upstairs while we did the remodel. Throughout the home, we ripped up and replaced all of the floors with this beautiful wood plank tile. This area here had a couple of built-ins very similar to what was here, but the quality of it was a little bit different. It was kind of a wood frame with plywood, so we just pretty much updated this whole area here. We call it the piano bar. All new cabinetry, all new lighting all the way around.
Moving Through the Home
We also have an actual bar. It’s a small bar, but we updated this too, gutted the whole thing, and rebuilt all the cabinetry. All new tile lighting and countertops in here.
We worked really well with the client on this Hansen Court full home remodel. They knew what they wanted. They personally picked out the lighting and a lot of what you see. In the kitchen dining area, we actually did a banquette, so we added lower cabinets, put a top on, and now they can actually sit all the way around the dining room table.
When we first came in here, the client had an odd piece directly mounted to the family room wall. It was kind of odd at first to see it because it didn’t go with the home. So where did it come from? It turns out the homeowner was just looking for something for the wall. We decided to take that piece and make something out of it. We built the whole thing out to look like a real fireplace. Down inside of there is an Opti-myst fireplace. It’s just vapor. There’s no flame. No heat comes off of that, but we literally brick the inside and actually rub that with real charcoal to give it the effect of soot. We did all of the tile work, all the split-faced stone, and we also added the cabinetry. The ceiling was a recessed ceiling already, but we rebuilt and did a complete new coffered ceiling.
In the master bath, we completely redesigned this. The old shower had a half wall. We pushed it out, built a closet forum, did a free-standing tub, and added backsplash that really highlights everything. It’s just amazing how everything came together.
