The Big Three
Homeowners are savvier than ever when it comes to knowing what they want. Thanks to home improvement shows and online sources like Houzz and Pinterest (you can find us there too!), it’s easy for homeowners to find all kinds of ideas about how they want their homes to look and what the trendy ways to redefine their interior design tastes are.
Here at Cabex, we get inquiries and requests daily regarding different home improvement projects across the Sarasota and Manatee County areas. Here are the big three remodeling projects we’ve noticed that local homeowners are asking us to help them upgrade.
> Home Design Trends Unique to Sarasota
Outdoor Kitchens
Because a lot of us are spending more and more time at home, the demand and interest in upgrading outdoor living spaces, especially outdoor kitchens, continue to rise. Think about your back lanai, porch, and driveway too.
Outdoor kitchens and dining areas are in huge demand right now. The desire to make cooking, eating, and entertaining outside easier and more convenient is more popular than ever. Ranging from cozy and minimalistic to large, fully outfitted structures that rival your indoor kitchen, these outdoor spaces can be built to your needs and preferences.
Flooring
We’ve noticed that when a homeowner is interested in upgrading their kitchen or bathroom, they’re also interested in upgrading the flooring throughout not just the kitchen or bathroom, but the entire home.
LVP flooring is very popular. This is Luxury Vinyl Plank, which is a durable and beautiful alternative to hardwood flooring. When installed correctly, LVP perfectly mimics the look, texture, and warmth of real wood.
> Integrated Refrigerators & Custom Pantries
A lot of our clients lately have been interested in upgrading their old floor to a lighter wood-look floor, whether it’s an engineered wood or a wood-look tile. And then if the client wants to interject more wood tones back into the overall space, they can use more medium wood tones with the cabinetry instead of going very dark.
Master Bathroom
If you’re satisfied with your kitchen but still want to do something to add value to your home, the other area to invest in would be the master bathroom. So many people want to take out those big, old Roman tubs and create more of an oasis, something with larger showers, freestanding tubs, large shower benches, steam showers, body sprays, showerheads from the ceiling, and updated plumbing fixtures. It’s really all about creating a spa-like feel.
A lot of people like going to the spa, so it only makes sense to bring that “spa” home to give yourself a comfortable, relaxing space to come home to after a long day to escape to.
